Agri Outlook Conference 2025

The Agricultural Outlook Conference was held on 8 October 2025 at the Windhoek Country Club Resort under the theme “Harvesting the Future.” Jointly hosted by PDNFU, NNFU, NECFU, and NAU, the event brought together over 350 participants, including farmers, young entrepreneurs, union representatives, and policymakers. Her Excellency Dr. Nandi-Ndeitwah, President of Namibia, and Dr. Inge Zamwaani, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform attended, highlighting the national importance of the conference. NNFU President Muremi stressed that farmers aim not just to survive, but to grow, and increasing agriculture’s contribution to GDP. He highlighted on key challenges including bush encroachment, limited market access, human–wildlife conflict, droughts, and low investment in research and mechanization.

He further called on the government to prioritize agriculture in the national budget, consult unions in policymaking, and align strategies with the CAADP Kampala Declaration 2035, which recommends at least 10% public investment in agriculture. Access full speech here.
